What happens at the end of Tristan and Isolde?

In his final moments, Tristan whispers to Isolde that while he cannot say whether life surpasses death, their love has proven greater than both. After laying Tristan to rest, Isolde plants two willow trees beside his grave, which eventually grow together in an eternal embrace. Following this act, Isolde vanishes from all records, her fate remaining forever unknown.
