WHAT: A bold, new multidisciplinary initiative designed to pioneer future directions for San Francisco Opera and the art form of opera.
WHO: A remarkable group of six thinkers and artists. Meet them.
HOW: Each Instigator, based on their individual creative practice and expertise, will pursue an avenue of inquiry in a lab-like framework for one or two years, supported by San Francisco Opera. Starting in June, Instigators will immerse themselves in the art form, exchanging knowledge with members of the staff and creative community, generating questions and approaches around the future of opera.
The ultimate goal of the INSTIGATORS program:
to infuse the rich but age-old art form with new thinking and perspectives.
