San Francisco Opera violist Natalia Vershilova is a graduate of the Leningrad Conservatory. Before coming to the Bay Area, she resided in Hawaii where she performed as a soloist with the Honolulu Symphony and taught at the Punahoe School.
Natasha has also soloed with Sinfonia San Francisco, the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra, the Russian Chamber Orchestra and the Elixir Chamber Orchestra.
She frequently performs with the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra, as well as with various other ensembles throughout the Bay Area. An avid teacher, she has taught viola at Stanford University.
Natalia is a dedicated student of Japanese language and culture. She also enjoys exploring other genres of music, improvisation and is a folk music enthusiast. She currently performs on fiddle with the recorded American Folk group, The Goat Family.
