What happens at the end of the opera Rigoletto?
Rigoletto arrives to collect what he believes is his enemy's dead body. As he prepares to dispose of the corpse, the Duke's voice drifts through the night air, still singing. Struck with dread, Rigoletto tears open the sack to discover his own daughter inside, mortally wounded but still clinging to life. In her final moments, she confesses her enduring love for the Duke before succumbing to her injuries in her father's embrace.
