Pre-Opera Talks

Newbies and opera aficionados alike can enjoy a brief talk providing an overview of the opera before every performance. Arrive at the Opera House early to learn about the opera’s music, characters, composer and historical context from one of our trusted scholars.

Live pre-opera talks occur 55 minutes prior to each performance and last 20-25 minutes. Audio recorded pre-opera talks can be found on the details page for each opera within about a week of opening.

Post-Show Panels and Talk-Backs

Sometimes you're not ready to let go of a story after the show has ended. If Opera likes to stick with you, stick around with us after select performances for post-show talk-backs and panel discussions that dive deeper into all aspects of the piece--from conception to production and everything in between.

Activations and Installations

In partnership with organizations like the Marigold Project and the William James Association, we're proud to offer opera-goers activations in and around the Opera House including interactive altars and special exhibit installations featuring art inspired by what's on stage.
