Vote for your favorite breakout star from San Francisco Opera's 2024–25 Season!

The Emerging Stars Competition, made possible by Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem, is a fund for opera singers who have made their mark on the grand stage. Through the Emerging Stars Fund, Jan and Maria help bring some of opera’s most exciting rising talents to the stage. Past recipients of the Emerging Star of the Year award include countertenor Carlo Vistoli,  soprano Yaritza Véliz, soprano Andriana Chuchman, baritone Lucas Meachem, and tenors Arturo Chacón-Cruz and Atalla Ayan.
