In the Barber’s Seville, schemers and scamps abound, donning disguises to match the latest intrigue. Whether it’s a count playing the soldier, a vixen playing the saint, or a music teacher spreading slander for the fun of it, everyone is chasing their hearts’ hidden desires. Who will you become tonight? What disguise will you slip on to join the game?

 

Several experiences are available pre-show, with additional enticements beginning after the performance of Act I (7:30pm to 9:00pm). Last call is at 11:00pm.

• The Paramours’ Plaza

  Located in the Main Lobby (1^st Floor)
  Let love bloom in this lush Sevillian Courtyard where music and dance fill the air!

  • Meet the Stars: After the show, say hello to some of The Barber of Seville’s principal artists! 
  • Pedicab Photo Op: Climb into a pedicab for a scenic photo-op ride through the Barber’s Seville!
  • Flirt with Flamenco: Grab a fan or castanets and learn some moves from the Opera’s dance master, Colm Seery, and members of the Corps de Ballet. (9:30-10:15pm)
  • Dance Party: When the lights dim at 10:30pm, tear up the dance floor with DJ Jeanine Da Feen! 
  • Pedicab Rides: On your way to or from your time in Seville, descend the Van Ness steps for a real pedicab ride!

• The Wily Barber’s Workshop

  Located on the Box Level (Mezzanine)
  Visit the Barber’s Shop to don your disguise and revel in the work of crafty artisans!

  • Get a Glow-up: Add a splash of color to your look with vibrant hair and face paint transformations from SF Opera hair and make-up crew.
  • Tattoo & Nail Parlor: Get inked with temporary flair from real tattoo artists or add some serious glam to your nails. 
  • Costume Try-on & Photo Op: Try on real pieces from past operas for a one-of-a-kind photo op. 
  • The VIP lounge is open for rest and refreshment, exclusive to box ticket holders.
  • Toast the new you with a visit to the Champagne Bar for some Spanish-themed champagne cocktails.
• The Dangerous Damsel’s Garden

  Located on the Grand Tier Level (2^nd Floor)
  Wander a delicate yet deceptive garden full of dainty delights, hidden desires, and dangerous diversions.

  • Immersive Photo Op: Plant your own plots in a theatrical garden setting, no green thumb required!
  • Garden of Desire: Step into a steamy dreamworld featuring alluring burlesque entertainers and luxurious photo-ready perches.
  • The Toxic Tunnel: Take your chances with a walk through the toxic tunnel. As the wild greenery grows around you, beware what might be hiding in the shadows.
  • Garden Games: ¡Vamos a jugar! Head to the south hallway for a lineup of fun and frivolous garden games.

• The Mischievous Music Teacher’s Studio

  Located on the Dress Circle Level (3rd Floor)
  Visit the music studio to cause some creative chaos and discover your inner diva!

  • Masterclass with a Drag Diva: Who knows what you’ll learn when Katya Smirnoff Sky, drag mezzo extraordinaire, offers some pointers to singers from the stage! (9:15pm, 9:45pm, 10:15pm, and 10:45pm)
  • Strike a Chord: Meet members of the orchestra and try your hand at learning a new instrument.
  • Beat the Baton: Take center stage and direct the drama yourself at our interactive conducting demonstrations! 
  • Hit the High Note: See if you have the arm and aim to be pitch-perfect in this musical dart game!
  • The Composer’s Desk: Commemorate the night and visit our resident scribe for a custom calligraphy keepsake. 
  • Photo Fantasia: Strike a dramatic pose at multiple music-room photo ops scattered throughout the studio.

Skip the line and order your post-performance refreshments before the show! Just visit the bar before the act and order your drink from the bartender. Your drink will be waiting for you at that bar at the end of the act.
