Backstage with Matthew: Spring Training for the San Francisco Opera Chorus

I’m at that point in the spring where I am itching to get back to the theater and to the stage! It’s been almost four months since we closed It’s a Wonderful Life, and we’re just weeks away from welcoming artists back to San Francisco for the rehearsals of Rusalka, Orlando and Carmen. But in various parts of the company, preparations for the summer season, and even the fall, are well under way. Sets are being built for Figaro, costumes are being created, and the San Francisco Opera Chorus is working hard preparing all of the operas that they will be in this calendar year.
