Reasons to See 2016–17

Meet Michael Bragg, San Francisco Opera’s Opera Librarian. A self-proclaimed Opera Nerd, Michael has an encyclopedic knowledge of vocal and operatic repertoire, which (as you can imagine) is an enormously valuable Company resource. Michael’s infectious energy and unyielding high spirits can, will and do bring a smile to anyone’s face. Hear from Michael why you should see the 2016–17 Season.
Madame Butterfly
I’ve seen and heard it over a dozen times and it never gets old. Lianna Haroutounian is going to be spectacular as Cio-Cio-San.
Rigoletto
As a tenor, Rigoletto has a special place in my heart. I’m so looking forward to hearing the wonderful tenor Pene Pati sing his face off as the Duke.
Don Giovanni
Who doesn’t love a story where the bad guy gets exactly what he deserves? This opera is a masterpiece. Beautifully composed with a dramatic and poignant libretto. #SignMeUp
La Bohème
Every time I hear the end, I cry, I mean, every time! In my opinion, La Bohème is the perfect opera. The music, the story and the characters are so well written you can’t help but fall in love with this piece.
