Ronde d'amour

"Ronde d'amour"

Cécile Chaminade, Composer

Artist Laura Krumm (mezzo-soprano)
Pianist     John Churchwell

Self-described dog mom and amateur pasta chef Laura Krumm offers up a little delight by Cécile Chaminade: the French composer and pianist’s “Ronde d’Amour” from 1895. “As the singer it’s so fun to be barely containing excitement and titillation,” shares the mezzo-soprano, “only to have the piano joyously burst forward and blow the whole illusion of control.” Joining her on piano is John Churchwell, San Francisco Opera’s Head of Music Staff.

Poetry by Charles Foster.
