Laure Campbell

Head Orchestra Librarian

A California native, Lauré Campbell started playing piano at the age of eight and began flute studies at ten. She obtained both a Bachelors and Masters degree in flute performance from San Francisco State University, studying primarily with Paul Renzi. During her time at San Francisco State, Lauré was appointed by Kurt Herbert Adler to her current position of Orchestra Librarian for the San Francisco Opera.

Ms. Campbell also plays flute and piccolo with the San Francisco Opera Orchestra. She can be seen onstage in the Company’s video of La Bohème dressed as a man, and movie aficionados will remember her as the third flute in Yes, Giorgio, starring Luciano Pavarotti.

She is a member of Major Orchestra Librarians Association and serves on the organization’s Development Committee.

Lauré lives outside of San Francisco with her husband Tom, a husky and two cats. In her free time she is an avid reader, gardener, cook and award-winning quilter. She is currently coauthoring and illustrating a cookbook.
