Associate Principal Trumpet

John Pearson joined the San Francisco Opera Orchestra in 1992. Prior to joining the Opera Orchestra, he regularly appeared with the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra where he continues to be a frequent performer. 

John attended San Francisco State University where he received a Bachelor of Music degree while performing nightly for the popular musical revue, Beach Blanket Babylon. He continued his studies at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where alongside fellow classmates, he cofounded the brass quintet, the San Francisco Brass. In 1986, the San Francisco Brass toured Africa and the Middle East as ambassadors of the US Information Agency. As an active member of the Bay Area freelance community, he has performed on numerous movie and video game soundtracks.
